In The Beginning A “RAPTRESS” IS BORN

Carrie Simmons comes into the world, the third generation in a line of professional musicians.

From an early age it’s apparent… a "normal life" is not in the cards for this girl!  She shoots her first commercial at age 5… and lands her first professional singing gig at age 10.

 
1992 – 1996 JACK (OR JILL) OF ALL TRADES
 
After graduating high school in Alexandria, Va., Carrie studies Fine Art at The Savannah Collage of Art and Design where she earns a BFA.  Next it’s on to New York City where she thrives in the fashion industry and hones her skills as an actor and singer.  True to form, as a singer, she decides that focusing on one style won’t do.   She dives into ALL of it.  Rock, Jazz, Dance, Pop and Rap.
1998 HOLLYWOOD CALLING
 
Carrie moves to California and starts her own Hemp clothing company, HempKandi, and Yoga studio, while she explores what Tinsel Town has to offer.

Turns out it has quite a bit.  She almost immediately lands work in commercials, shooting spots for MGD, Coke, Captain Morgan, Tower Records and others.

 It's not long before she gets an offer to star in MTV’s reality show True Life – I’m an Actress.

2003 POP CULTURE QUEEN
 
Grand Theft Auto:  San Andreas.  Carrie lands on the cover of the hugely popular video game and subsequently in the hands of about 90 Million young gamers, world wide.  And they want to meet that girl!!
2004 THE MUSIC

Never far from her first love: MUSIC, Carrie forms the band, HYPER ~ electronic hip hop. They play all over the LA area, and develop a large, unique fan base which helps get Carrie noticed.

2006 - Carrie starts SOLO career with new R & B producer Kenny Beck & shoots "HOT BOY" video.

2007- Carrie becomes a recording artist with Grammy nominated producer Ricki St. Hilaire.

2008- Records album of JAZZ standards @ Wishing Well Studios in Burbank, CA. Michael Wells & Jimmy White produce & arrange. She is inspired by Michael Buble', Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald & Cole Porter. Under the direction & executive producing of Ernest Samson, she shoots photos at Playboy studio west (Photographer, Stephen Wayda).

2009

“RAPTRESS TIME”

Carrie is commissioned to go back into the recording studio this time at The Village Studios to cut 5 original tracks with Grammy winning producer Damon Elliott. New genre: POP-RAP. Her inspirations and influences: Fergie, Blondie, Madonna, Pink, Gwen Stephani, & Lady Gaga.
 
Chops, looks and that vibrant personality has Carrie on the fast track to….everything.
